How to step down high-current negative DC voltage

Have a look at the LT8709. I am not sure it's lowest output voltage though, might not be 1V Adam

    Constant voltage load

Not being stupid here. But what the benefit from this and just a resistor? Adam

How a BJT Transistor works (base current version)

Hi Claude, There is no intention to offend you, that’s not what I am here for. Sorry if you felt that. We all have our own opinions and we are all very keen to keep hold of that. I don’t know you and you don’t know me. You come along telling us that what we all know is basically wrong you can...

How a BJT Transistor works (base current version)

Yeah I go with that. And then there is the uncertainty principle which allow the conservation of energy to turn a blind eye for a split second. Adam

    Solar Array and Lipo

Dont forget 3 Lipos in series will require 12.8 Volts for charging not 11.1V. Thanks Adam

Cathode follower circuit for Rf generator

I cant answer your question sorry but Hop might be able to. You out there Hop big buddy? @hevans1944 Adam

    The Standard of Engineering Graduates

Oh dont get me going on this one. I have had several very clever people (on paper) try and teach me electronics and circuit theory. Guess what I said to them when they got it all wrong, yep fu** off. Some even forgot npn and pnp. Adam

How a BJT Transistor works (base current version)

Looking forward to how current controls current! Adam

How a BJT Transistor works (base current version)

Yeahhhh well done LvW. That is dead right.

How a BJT Transistor works (base current version)

You could also argue that current is a catalyst in all this and can't control anything. It can represent something and cause effects but can it control something how can something so random control anything. What I do know is electric potential energy (applied voltage) can control current in a...

How a BJT Transistor works (base current version)

Hello Claude My diode plot proves that the current through the diode does not reach a steady state until Vd does. I will agree with you and I think I have that for fast rising edges that produce the visual spike in Id. At that moment and a short time after if you were to measure the current and...

    Convert USB keyboard to PS2?

Differential amplifier single ended output calculations

Rather complex, yeah I would go along with that :) This is some of the stuff you will need to work out. Adam

    Aux car light switch setup?

What heavy wiring you thinking of? 3 m @ 25 Amps with 5% loss = 10 AWG which is 2.5 mm diameter solid core. Use low voltage thin multi strand wire to keep diameter down. If your run is only 2 m you could go down to 11 AWG and if it's only 1 m then 14 AWG will be fine. You can use the relays if...

stepper motor with ultra low torque at rest?

You can operate a BLCD motor in what's called micro stepping mode same as used for some stepper motors. How well it will work I don't know. Both motors are designed for different applications the coils maybe too far apart for this to work well. You may find the resolution unacceptable. @Fish4Fun...

Differential amplifier single ended output calculations

Hello Your tail current will be -10 Volts - about -0.635 Volts because of the Vbe drop. This gives you less than 2.13 mA and your current is not split evenly between the two. It's close as Ratch said but this might make a difference in your calculations. Adam

    Aux car light switch setup?

So you can do a way with the relays then. Each switch will be passing 6 Amps if you use two 36 Watt LEDs. Thanks Adam

How a BJT Transistor works (base current version)

Yes I personally think he is clutching at straws because he knows we are right. He doesn't answer our questions properly and scoots around them. A classic sign of denial. No offence Claude you see like a nice guy and all that but you have only come up with some simulations that don't prove...
