    Motorola Cross Reference program...

Trivia I'm thinking of to consider: Are the Motorola numbers JEDEC, or proprietary? Common Motorola became 'ON Semiconductor', specialty stuff became 'Freescale Semiconductor'. What are the Motorola part numbers you're trying to cross? (rhetorical) I use Google when I need cross ref or data...

    Fisher CR-110 Cassette Deck problem

Seriously clean the tape heads, and transport rollers. Odds are, they need cleaning.. I know you said you cleaned them, ...Hoping it's not one of the heads themselves going bad. Other problem I've seen a lot of, is the switching mechanism for forward and reverse needing cleaning. When they...

    ColecoVision Internal Power Supply

Trace the circuit. You've got power 'ground' which is the return for your electronic connections, and may have a different 'ground', which is for the electrical safety of users. Don't connect circuit ground to the electrical safety ground. 1) If it comes from the capacitor, it's a circuit...

    TEKTRONIX 2430A

Recalibration starts Section 5 of the Tek manual (page 5-1). Internal Adjustments starts on page 5-3. It describes which internal jumpers must be pulled-off to enable the menu choices for extended calibration. Some cals will use your Bradley 192, some cals use internal patterns generated by...

    Video projector lamps

This is not going to be any help for your problem. The 'NSH' is just the identifier for that bulb, it's not at acronym. The projectors are designed around the bulb, and I don't know a substitute for NSH. When I buy something, I find-out if the expected replacement parts are available, and...

And don't forget to look for anything else that burned-out with the diode.

    tektronix 468 with dm44

That may explain why you can't select channel one. If channel two is selected continuously, you CAN'T select channel one. (Your channel two push-button switch is bad) You'll have to replace the switch, then, having cleaned the switches, see what you've got.

    tektronix 468 with dm44

This may not help, but consider it. The FIRST thing I do, is check the actual on/off operation of the front panel push-buttons on the front panel. When one fails or sticks, it holds-out functions you're expecting to see on the scope. Clean the switches, and especially the rotary wafer...

    TEKTRONIX 2430A

My manual is from the 1990's. If you've got no memory battery, there must be a way to reset the scope for default (factory settings), that might clear the problem in your memory IC's. Good luck with it. No one failed IC, should cause all your error codes to go haywire.

    Relay Help

Relay used to be made by TYCO, I'm not sure they still make it. Not sure of suppliers in UK (I'm in US). Everyplace that sells it here, that I could find, says it's a non-stocked item, ...which usually means the supplier has to go out and buy it from somebody else, so they can sell it to you...

    TEKTRONIX 2430A

From the beginning: You can exit EXTENDED DIAGNOSTICS mode by pressing MENU OFF/EXTEDND FUNCTION BUTTON LED's flash, and are held on for a short period to indicate a failure has been found: then the sequence of turning on the LED's begins a code number of the failed test. 1st number...

    TEKTRONIX 2430A

First I'd try the diagnostic function. You can exit the EXTENDED DIAGNOSTICS Press 'SPECIAL' push-button, you'll get "DISABLED-SEE MANUAL" Remove connector J156 from the A13 board. Don't try this, unless you can recalibrate the instrument. Press 'SPECIAL' button again, you'll see...

    TEKTRONIX 2430A

When the scope powers-up it compares it's most recent self-test, with it's last stored self-test, ....which was apparently a long time ago. And that can be complicated by the ambient temperature, from last self-test, to the new one at turn-on. If the temperature is considerably different...

    Westinghouse LTV 32 Fuse Problem

I agree with Mitchekj, something was damaged in your tv, or the new fuse wouldn't have blown. It's up to you. You can take the back cover off the TV (make sure it's not plugged-in), and take a look at the components around where the power cord comes in. You may very well see a burned part...

    Regulator is overheating ....

They make the 7805 in a TO-3 power regulator package. You might try one of those with a hefty heat sink,... really sounds like you're drawing a lot of current. Like *steve* says, make sure you've got no shorts in your actual configuration.

Home made (USB-cable) charger for a Camcorder.

I am thinking your vacuum battery charger would be supplying considerably more current than what your camera charger system would be expecting. Watch out you don't damage your camera batteries.

Need help finding obscure TCO/thermal fuse

When I get stuck on a part, I ask them to send me a (free) sample. If it's a cheap part, 75% of the time they do it. I can't vouch for the company, I just know they sell the part you're looking for. Sounds to me, like somebody at this place, is trying to make a few bucks on the side, sending...

PROBLEM - NO COMPONENT SIGNAL ON ALL 5 OLD SONY MONITORS

Can't help you with menu, but want to give you another thing to think about. Some technical staff modify their equipment to work in their old gear when they don't have the budget to upgrade to newer equipment. Hopefully you'll find someone who can set you up with your menu. Just wanted you to...

    Diode symbol confusion

Schottkey diode symbol should have extra turn at the end of each of the barbs, pointing back into the device. I see a lot of unusual symbols out of foreign countries though. If you're sure you've got barbs at ends of cathode symbol (one toward anode, other toward cathode), and you're sure it's...
