    Automated Sliding Door

I can't read the terminal numbers in the photo, but yes, the drawing shows NC, NO, COM from top to bottom on both sides, with the coil along the bottom. Your pin numbers in your post for the right side are 2, 4, and 5. I hope that's a typo and it's actually 2, 4, 6! If your soldering is not...

    Panasonic NV-F70A power supply problems

You can't calculate the rating of a resistor in a power supply by multiplying the mains fuse rating by the mains supply voltage. That particular resistor is in part of the circuit where a limited amount of current flows through it for a short time during each switching cycle. It's probably rated...

    Automated Sliding Door

Yes, both of the normally closed contacts on K2 are "no connection" (hence the "NC" marking).

    seasons greetings to all

It's been a good year here on Electronics Point. Here's to another! Happy religion-nonspecific family-oriented celebration and holiday period to you all :-)

    Replacing Capacitor

A bit of Googling tells me that this is an EPOC (brand) E68 (series) dipped, metallised polyester film (PETP) capacitor for general purpose use. EPOC don't seem to have a web site. The main agent is Anglia Components, http://www.angliac.co.uk and according to their data sheet, a marking of 220...

    Panasonic NV-F70A power supply problems

kcoer, I guess you don't know what a 400 watt resistor looks like! Here's a 300W resistor. Probably a bit too big! amhifi, I think your power supply may be uneconomical to repair. With switching power supplies (the compact type used in VCRs, cellphone charges and many other appliances)...

Code causes error report from PIC CCS compiler

    You missed the extra parenthesis after while:while ((buffer[i] != ',') && (i<dataLen))

    Automated Sliding Door

All of the points in the diagram that have the 0V symbol (the symbol at the bottom of the negative wire from the battery) need to be connected together. This includes the negative terminal of the battery. Whether or not they are also connected to "ground" (i.e. the soil) is not important.

pic programming help - controlling GSM to send message from PIC16F873A

I get "server not found" for sife.com. All I can suggest is that you get documentation for similar units made by different companies and see whether it responds to AT commands. You should be able to test it with a PC running a terminal emulator, talking through an RS-232 port to an...

Code causes error report from PIC CCS compiler

What is the error and what line is it on? The error message from the compiler should give you a description of the type of error, and its location.

pic programming help - controlling GSM to send message from PIC16F873A

I don't know how you think anyone will be able to help you. We don't know any more about your GSM module than you do. You need to find documentation for it. You didn't even tell us the manufacturer or part number of the GSM module!

    advice for device repair

I don't work in any field at the moment :-( That's why I have so much time to spend answering questions in these forums! "Electronic design automation" (EDA) refers to software tools that are used to automate the electronic design process, such as autorouters (that create printed circuit board...

    Shorted DC drive transformer

Good! I guess if it's still working OK you could put it down to a bad multimeter. The damage that occurred when the metal shorted out the transformer should be confined only to those tracks, so I don't think there's any reason to go searching for other faults, especially if it's working OK.

    Shorted DC drive transformer

I suggested using thin wire initially so that if there was a short, it would blow quickly. That wire is OK but it is raised up off the board, so make sure that it won't short onto anything when the board is fitted back in position. I would try to clean up the blackened areas of the board. Use a...

    Shorted DC drive transformer

Based on what you've said about the arc being between those pins on the transformer, I think it's most likely that you've just blown up some thin tracks on the underside of the board, and the board could work again if you fix them. Use thin wire (e.g. one strand from a piece of thin hookup...

    Accelerometer HELP!

Hmm. You want something that has an accelerometer, a display, and a bluetooth interface, and is user-programmable. Have you considered using a smartphone? I already suggested an Android-based wristwatch. That sounds like a very good option to me. Why would you want to do your own hardware...

    Another treadmill problem

No, I haven't given up on you! I spend five days per fortnight with my partner, and she doesn't like it when I "waste time" online :-) I'm surprised by the differences in your multimeter readings, and confused by the measurements themselves. It seems that voltage is coming out of the daughter...
