    Technics RS-TR313

I regularly use a silicone grease. Just make sure whatever grease you use is suitable for plastics. All model shops and electronic shops stock these types of grease. You must remove the dried lube first though. Even gears off of their spindles and cleaned. Martin

    need help on VGA

It looks like you will need a GND connection and the BAS connection for analog video too. But if your board has the same connector, a VGA, I can only assume that's what it is for.

    need help on VGA

Hi rambo99, I think you would be better to work out what signals the vga monitor requires first. And then see what signals you have. I don't really know what you mean by a display board for home made computer. This Wiki has the full pin out for VGA. Martin

Sit back, buckle up..Gonna be a bumpy ride.. @hevans1944 I still have the original 'You Steer' 1/32nd set. Slot car or 'Scalextric' has never been out of fashion, just moved to a fanatics corner. Design by Modelling

I admire a person like you that can have the time and space to keep all projects alive. Mine seem to be 'organised in a box' for next winter.. One day I will achieve my goals. "What goals" I hear you ask. Nothing in particular, just a really well organized work bench with tools I have but never...

    reed switches

Great to hear you are recovering. I would have kept the nurse a little longer:D Yes, I suppose magnetism needs both poles to be a magnet....... I just don't know where this monopole and dipole thing came from then. Possibly the 80s, CB antennas. I still have quite a few in my garage now. Martin

    reed switches

Hi Dave, hope you are feeling better and the nurse hasn't distracted you too much. Does that apply to an electro magnetic field too? Martin

    reed switches

Hi foTONICS, That's a very interesting question. I seem to remember years ago about electro magnetic forces being monopole and magnets being dipole. Or vice versa of course it was a while back. The EMF was positive driven and the magnet was north to south? Something on those lines. I would be...

    Technics RS-TR313

Hi Arch, The link posted by shrtrnd is the place for belts. Except the link is slightly different to mine.. https://www.thakker.eu/en/belts/tape-deck/technics-rs-tr-313-belt-kit/a-2261/ The gears may not be broken! It might be a case of the original lubricant has dried out causing them to not...

    Technics RS-TR313

Hi Arch, It sounds like there is an obstruction. You will have to delve deeper into the mechanism. Also, you might want to check the gear/sprocket/cog itself for a hairline crack on the shaft. Something like this picture. Note: not your device just a picture I found. Martin

    need help with identifying component

I forgot to say that @davenn was helping you. And I only answered because he was off-line. But generally going higher in the voltage will make the cap last longer and be more efficient. Martin
