And that is enough of an admission for me to consider you a nuisance.

Energy Meter energy calculation from power

Instantaneous power is power and is measured in Watts. Energy is power times time and is measured in Watt hours. There is no conversion from instantaneous power to energy. You need to take a series of measurements over time and integrate them. If your measurement is Watts, and you take one...

HOW TO ID-- A 12 VOLT ZENER DIODE --ONE WATT --

Here's 1000 words in the form of a picture: With no diode connected, the meter will read the battery voltage. With the diode connected one way around, the meter will read under 1V With the diode the other way around, IF the diode has a breakdown voltage less than the battery voltage, the...

Energy Meter energy calculation from power

You need to integrate the values over time, and scale appropriately.

Noob needs help building a circuit board

I understand what you mean, but you need to be explicit about the meaning of your bespoke terminology or it will just cause more confusion. I went back and read both versions of your post, and the unedited one only makes sense to me if I have information that was not available at the time. I...

HOW TO ID-- A 12 VOLT ZENER DIODE --ONE WATT --

The word "bias" is not used loosely. See here for more information: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biasing In the case of diodes (a device which nominally only allows current to flow in one direction) the normal bias voltage (which allows current to pass) is called a forward bias. When a...

Place a silica gel bag in there too and you shouldn't have moisture problems. However, if you're using degradable plastic bags, beware that they can fall apart.

How To Detect When A Line Goes Low

One of the problems with a 555 oscillator is that the first period is longer because the capacitor has to charge from 0V to 2/3 Vcc rather than from 1/3Vcc to 2/3Vcc. In practice I'm not sure now significant that is. Mechanically, you need to be careful that vibration doesn't cause components...

    Power adapter voltage drop/load

It's not something I'd like to try to calculate theoretically. Empirical measurement is the best approach. In addition, we're only talking about voltage as measured on a voltmeter. There's also ripple which will vary with load.

Noob needs help building a circuit board

There can be several reasons for this. Two of them (which don't rely on the mAh rating being wrong are): The mAh rating is that of the battery, not of the output. Misunderstanding of what mAh means

    Power adapter voltage drop/load

Theoretically you load the power supply and measure the voltage. The problem is that you don't know if the actual device represents a constant load. If it doesn't, the input voltage will vary (perhaps significantly).

HOW TO ID-- A 12 VOLT ZENER DIODE --ONE WATT --

Zener diodes are used reverse biased because the breakdown voltage is the thing they're made for. The forward voltage should be about 0.6V, not 5.6V though.

    Gunn Diode

Diode strictly means that it has 2 electrodes, not that it has a PN junction. A Gunn diode without an injector is symmetric. It is composed of GaAs that is all N doped, but with varying doing levels. An injector breaks the symmetry, but they still conduct in both directions.

    Dead Lithium Ion Batteries

NiCd's are great. Give me your old shorted NiCd batteries. They grow metallic whiskers which extend between the plates of the battery. At normal charge currents they simply conduct. The cure is to pass a brief high current through the battery. An electrolytic capacitor (maybe a few hundred...
