    Temperature sensor

I would recommend finding a proper replacement. Where have you looked? I found quite a few 10K @ 25degC on ebay but many had no charts. This one does...

    VHF Repeater system

I asked for the band because repeater receive and transmit frequencies are not the same. I must say that I'm a bit skeptical about anyone being put in charge of a repeater and hand held radios when your superiors haven't even provided you with basic information and insured that you understand...

Problems with sound circuit on a toy train

I think I've become jaded. I read that and immediately dismissed it thinking that you probably shorted two traces which may or may not have been stressful on the circuit. I'm glad Harald caught that and correctly diagnosed it. It's really not that uncommon. The two most common faulty or...

Need recommendation for rheostat or potentiometer

A high wattage Rheostat solution is absolutely archaic! Besides the size of the beast have you considered the weight? Moreover, large high power Rheostats require probably >10 times the torque of a small Pot to turn them. I have some huge ones made in the 1940s that you damn near need a wrench...

mydeen, welcome to Electronics Point. Email received on what device? Chris

New to the forum and I plan on expanding my knowledge in electronics, especially soldering.

Welcome to EP. The answer to your last sentence would be soup to nuts with the exception of OU electronics, physics. Chris

    Mosfets and second(ary) breakdown

Controlling Motorized slide potentiometer from dsPIC33EP512MU810

How can someone suggest code when we don't know what you want the motor drive to do and when to do it? IE: If, Then, Else. Chris

    Envelope detector design

The 1N34 is still as popular now as it was when I was a kid. That was along time ago. http://www.ebay.com/itm/20pcs-1N34A-Germanium-Diode-DO-35-1x-1N34-US-SELLER-FREE-SHIPPING-/272401581252?hash=item3f6c6644c4:g:f7wAAOSw14xWPURc Chris

Don't Arduinos have boot loader overhead that slows things down like a Picaxe? Have you considered using a much faster MCU like a 32MHz PIC? Chris

    Modifying AGC circuit

I couldn't resist simulating this so here it is. I couldn't make out if R8 is 10K or 100K. 100K seemed a bit much so I used 10KΩ. The sim is swept 4 times starting at 40mVPP to 20VPP input. Chris

    VHF Repeater system

Yeah, I forgot that and as you mention I think we'd all like to know "what ever the heck that is". LightShow hails from your neck of the woods. I sincerely doubt that Australia lets anyone who wants to put a repeater on the air do so unregulated. Chris

    VHF Repeater system

Actually, I suggested sending Morse code because too many hams have forgotten or for that matter, never learned to copy it in the first place. I thought it would be good for them to hear it on a regular basis. :) On that note I'm curious. Doesn't your repeater transmit its call sign with Morse...

    Low cycle Pulse generator ?

I asked because switching the relay coil to GND (low side switching) affords configuring the transistor as a common emitter amplifier. When saturated It will deliver nearly full battery voltage to the relay coil. Chris
