    Selector Button

Since you want to count upto 3 (for the 3 options), you need to have a 2 bit binary counter whose output ( 00, 01, 10, 11) can be decoded to the chosen option. A CMOS chip 4511 should help you thru'. http://www.doctronics.co.uk/4511.htm Just ground the Inputs C and D.

    Battery cells paste

Sorry, your question is difficult to understand. Can you explain your doubt a litle more? What do you mean by "Battery Cells Paste"? Are you referring to the "paste" that is inside the normal Dry Cells? That is Ammonium Chloride with Manganese Dioxide.

    Ethernet to fiber optic converter

AFAIK, there is no "Single" IC for this conversion. You can get Modules for this. Google for "ethernet to fiber media converter"

Determining the Inverter DC Voltage input Limit

What is the output voltage supposed to be? 110? 220? Once you know that, give an input starting with 6 volts, go to 12, 24, .... till you get the output voltage. That will tell you what the nominal input voltage.

Can a clock pendulum be slowed down by adding a resistor to the PSB?

There IS a solution - a Compound Pendulum. A simple rod pivoted at its centre will not swing, but if the pivot point is shifted, it will. http://farside.ph.utexas.edu/teaching/301/lectures/node141.html

    Bore pump start capacitor

The Capacitor inside the sealed motor will have at least 1 connection that is NOT accessible from the outside unless you open the motor - in which case you may as well replace the capacitor.

    Home made inverter...

Sorry AnalogKid, I was'nt contesting you :D. I agree with what you say. I was only suggesting to the OP that the Amplifier needs to be PWM based to take care of losses as mentioned in my first post. Invertors of 50 or 60 Hz are basically Class D amplifiers.

    Home made inverter...

Yes, and you design a Class D power amp - that's basically a PWM switching.

    Home made inverter...

If the idea is to charge mobile phones from a 12 volt battery, why go through this complicated process? You can buy mobile chargers working of 12 volts (look for car phone chargers) that serves your purpose. If you drive the FET's with a Square wave, your transformer will have Eddy Current...

Audio amplifier from biased square wave

If you drive a speaker from a "biased square wave", you will generate a sound. Is'nt that what you want? o_O A capacitor will block the DC. Or are you planning to make a wide range Sine Wave Oscillator? Then there are other ways to go about it.

    Information about power IC

How do you know it's a power IC? How will a Mosfet replace the IC? No, you are not likely to get any help this way. If you give details of the motherboard along with photographs of where on the motherboard is this IC placed, there maybe someone who can throw some light on its replacement...
