Need something for just switching between 3 lights

Depending on whet exactly you want, it should not be too difficult to conjure something up. What are you like building circuits?

Help for ELF (extreme low frequency) design

The ubiquitous 555 would do that easily over the voltage range you quote and, it is easy to vary the pulse width if desired.

    Help identify the part

Try the link below. It points to a PDF mapping out SMD codes. It may or may not help. I haven't read it through. http://www.sphere.bc.ca/download/smd-codebook.pdf

    CTEK MXS 3.8 repair

Hi again. The 100mF you quote should be 100nF. I blame my poor hand writing for the confusion For the 1nF, anything over 50V would do. Ceramic is fine. The same goes for the 100nF. Sorry for the confusion.

    CTEK MXS 3.8 repair

Sorry forgot to reply to that bit. Yes. But beware the little detector does have limitations. Edit: Forgot to mention, the circuit should be floating hence, no ground symbol on the sketch.

    Wire wound resistors

A zig - zag pattern will still exhibit some inductance. Ref Steve, yes it is possible to wind non inductive resistors. The clue is wind. it is generally done by winding half of the turns in one direction and the other half in the opposite direction, cancelling out the fields. But they tend to...

Learning Project Help - Converting a full sized solar panel

It was because you seemed to think that you can charge a battery using just a 5 volt regulator. The suggestion was not to take a class. You can google battery charging. There is a wealth of info out there.

    Wire wound resistors

Depends on the frequency you want to use. Wire wound resistors can be quite inductive which will limit the frequency you can use. If you want to put a lot of power through one, try to find a bulk carbon type as it will have far less inductance. Any resistor that is spiral cut to achieve it's...

Learning Project Help - Converting a full sized solar panel

You need to look into battery charging methodology before you do anything else. Form the tenet of your first post, you don't seem to appreciate what is involved and what the pitfalls / dangers are.
