    fried board Identification

    I got this out of an old PSU, and it appears to have a very large capacitor that has vaporized. I wondered if I am right or wrong in identifying it a a 220v adapter? can this board be reworked into a 220vac double for a sub woofer?

    I am thinking about the signal flow in my circuits... is it better to use the collectors on the transistors for the input signal ---- and the emitters on the transistors for output signal? or is it arbitrary and the flow of the shema has little to do with proper flow of the signal?
