    Capacitor Value issues (simple)

I believe that would read 1.2uF rated @ 100V but a photo would confirm it. Put a penny next to them for size reference. EDIT: Welcome to EP. ;) Chris

    Phototransistor latch circuit?

Did you read the data sheet? It's all spec'd out in there. They're about twice as fast @ 10V than @ 5V Vdd. That said there are faster alternatives. Chris

    Help Googling circuit names!

You never did say how many additional outputs you need. You may find that regardless of how you generate a monostable output, transistors, gates, inverters, 555's, etc, you will invariably increase your component count as compared to a second uC working as as a slave. Chris

    Wireless Power Transfer

If they're educational and work their little pea brain a bit they're OK. Not too many of those out there though. Chris

    7805 won't power device?

See, Holmes was smart! ;) Chris

    Building a circuit

Ha, I figured you were already designing it before I started typing that. Creepy huh! I have your phones tapped too! :p I'm not sure I grasp the first two sentences but I'm confident that your circuit and sim will clear that up. RE holding a PWM duty cycle for a long time. That's going...

    Wireless Power Transfer

It's not the wireless charging technology that I question. The proximity of the primary and secondary coils and the physical construction of a tooth brush charger is made to approximate a transformer as best they can. However, the vast majority of the interest in this technology manifests itself...

    7805 won't power device?

I'm confused! None of this ..... computes with any of this..... What am I missing here? Are you saying that you decided to test the 7805 by powering it and its load from a wall wart? If so the wallwart is being severely loaded. I'd bet if you scoped the output the wallwart...

    Building a circuit

Then Kris's ramp suggestion will be the cats meow for you. Understand that the motor will always be changing speed. It will start the cycle at a low RPM and ramp it up over a 225 second period. It will repeat this cycle continuously until shut off. Since Kris will probably be using 555's and...

    7805 won't power device?

To quote Holmes: "When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth". I'd be double checking the connections to the device to insure that they're solid and connected where they should be. Chris

    Hsice library

Hi and welcome to EP. Members here don't like opening zip files when unnecessary. Spice models can be represented by nothing more than a small text file. Chris

    Tuned Antenna FM crystal

I'm beginning to think that your sole purpose here is to p!ss us off! Why the hell can't you follow instructions?? You've been told time and time again to build one of the multitudes of crystal circuits found on the net but you insist on posting these wacky, haphazard ideas of yours. You're a...

    Wireless Power Transfer

I don't think I'll ever understand the obsession with this. It's been quite a few years since I read my first post about this on another forum but the whole concept is the antithesis of the current energy conservation craze. Chris

    Building a circuit

That's one of the beauties of the Picaxe system. You can play with the sample code in the programming editor. It includes a simulator mode. When I wrote DAC code for JPU it was all tested in the simulator. I never had a chip in front of me, just my laptop. The DAC option was new on the Picaxe...

    Building a circuit

Kris, just so there will be no misunderstanding, I love your discrete work! ;) As for learning Picaxe Basic is concerned, the free PDFs have example code for every statement and command. They also maintain an active Picaxe forum. The PDF's are also loaded with sample schematics. Do you remember...

    Building a circuit

Ha Kris, I'm disappointed! When I said discrete it was meant literally. Absolutely no chips but a Darlington wouldn't be held against you! :D Seriously though, from JP's description I think he needs steps not a ramp. ;) As far as Picaxe is concerned there's no programming hardware, or...

    Building a circuit

What you want to do should be done using Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) generated and controlled by a microcontroller (uC) as it's heart. This would be a trivial job for an easy to learn Picaxe-08M2. This is not to say that it can't be done without a uC. In fact we have a member (Kris Blue) who...

    AM receiver not working

Dave, this too funny. My initial take was ahhh, another cool Aussie colloquialism! I was going to ask you for a definition. :D Gherbi, I think you'll find that mounting everything on a wood base will afford you maximum latitude and ease of placement and affixing. Remember, when making...
