    Help bluing razor blade

As Duke said those blades were made from carbon steel and if Gillette still makes them I suspect they still are because they make and hold an edge better and much longer than any SS alloy. They could be using HSS too. Back in the day Gillette called them their "Blue Blades" because they came out...

    Demodulation

Let's talk about proper audio transducers for Crystal Radios. Conventional electromagnetic speakers are out of the question. Earphones, Ear-buds, etc are the order of the day but they must be high impedance. You can't use earphones that employ miniature speakers. In fact I don't even recommend...

Pulse Width Modulation Signal Stretching Thingy?

Ha, the Servo end of this project totally obscured much bigger issues. This really is the proverbial "Forest through the trees" at my end! ;) Chris

Pulse Width Modulation Signal Stretching Thingy?

Others may have a different opinion but I find using a servo as an analog meter to be impractical. Chris

    Demodulation

Which one what? Are you referring to the two caps in that circuit? If so we're referring to the tank cap. The cap across the phones is an RF bypass. Tip: If you want to keep your sanity I suggest Ignoring anything posted by dietermoreno. He knows just enough to be dangerous to himself and...

Tube amp acting very strange-- tubes acting as speakers

You can if the H-Z input is preceded by a resistive attenuator also known as a Pad.. Chris

    Demodulation

That's dependent upon the value of 'C'.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LC_circuit http://www.1728.org/resfreq.htm This does beg a bigger question though. Chris

Pulse Width Modulation Signal Stretching Thingy?

I guess this begs another question too. What's the frequency of this pulse train? Chris

Variable inductor instead of varible capacitor in FM crystal set

This statement sounds a lot like a goodbye, Do you think you're going somewhere? Not a chance amigo! Please read back through this thread and find my plea and Steve's reply to me. As per the forum rules as stated by Steve I believe my divorce is now officially recognized. Congratulations...

Make 12v LEDs blink once every 3 seconds?

Steve, it's no wonder that you missed it. Hiding something in plain sight (in bold print) is sneaky!! It might make you feel better to know that I didn't see it either. :D Chris

Looking for resistor value and capacitor value for passive low pass filter remove RF

Uh, I took a peek at your latest schematic that employs BJTs but no power source. That's just for starters. Does anyone want to take over from here? I think I've reached core meltdown! Chris

Looking for resistor value and capacitor value for passive low pass filter remove RF

Someone has to enlighten you so it might as well be me. Circuit design at VHF frequencies takes on new dimensions. Alligator jumpers clipped to coil taps in the VHF bands isn't going to cut it. A 1/4" length of wire can spell the difference between a tuned circuit and an detuned one. Forget...

    Modulating Ic on a BJT?

While it will effectively regulate Watt/Hrs (average wattage/time) PWM isn't a voltage or current regulator. Excluding transition points, at any point in its cycle it's either on or off. It isn't a sawtooth waveform either. Chris

Variable inductor instead of varible capacitor in FM crystal set

There's nothing wrong with an analog meter but it's not likely to have a capacitance function. Chris
