    Bottleneck 555's 0.2A Stuck project

    At Ebay I typed "Logic Level" and "MOSFET" auto-completed. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2050601.m570.l2632.R2.TR2.TRC1&_nkw=logic+level+mosfet&_sacat=92074&_from=R40 This one has a Vgs(TH) = 2.0V...

    Bottleneck 555's 0.2A Stuck project

For the most part you can't brew your own cheaper than you can buy a PR import. Chris

    long wire to transistor base

Grabbing at straws here because what you're describing is mind boggling. Please re-post the schematic with the collector resistor value and the transistor part number included. Also, is the collector circuit being sourced by that same 15V rail as shown for the base bias? Chris

Variable inductor instead of varible capacitor in FM crystal set

OK, I'm going to take your word for it. It's just that reading you're posts is much like watching Mr. Magoo stumbling around aimlessly! Are you mechanically proficient? Do you have a workshop? I'm asking because both variable capacitors and variable inductors can be fabricated. In fact I...

Variable inductor instead of varible capacitor in FM crystal set

I haven't read all 124 posts that dietermoreno has currently accumulated but I'm beginning to get suspicious that they all have one goal... Rattle our chain! Think about it. He invents component names, terms and doesn't have the time to Google a transistor symbol! dietermoreno has completed...

    Auto Window Up & Down

This won't be a minor retrofit. You'll have to tap into the door (courtesy lights) switches to be used as the down/up trigger. The circuit will need some form of limit sensor or timer. You'll also need a changeover relay or H-Bridge to control the motor direction. I'd fix the car. ;) Chris

    long wire to transistor base

Do you have a connector on the far end of the cable? If you do it's probably shorted and that's easy for a nube to do if it's a 1/8" mini-plug. Yes, these are assumptions because there aren't many suspects here. Chris

Variable inductor instead of varible capacitor in FM crystal set

That won't work because Amazon boxes contain high levels of Unobtainium. I suggest a different box. Chris

need help - automatic oiler circuit

The pump you chose is 6V but you have a 12V system. I didn't see the current draw listed either. Are you sure it'll stand up to oil? Some plastics soften to oil exposure. Chris

Battery powered Current sink with low voltage cutoff

Just so there's no misunderstanding... Yes, it looks good! ;) Chris

Battery powered Current sink with low voltage cutoff

Well I didn't see any giant solder globs bridging traces! ;) Chris

Variable power supply for supplying valve amp builds

No, don't go through that trouble just for me. I'm not the OP. I thought it was a circuit that you designed. Chris

Battery powered Current sink with low voltage cutoff

Judging by the work on the component side of the board I'm sure the solder side is looks just as good but just to be sure you're not a "Bigger the glob the better the job" solderer can we see the bottom of the board? If my buddy Ron reads this he'll be ticked off at me! :D Ooo I like this...

Variable power supply for supplying valve amp builds

Actually, the vacuum tube model interested me. ;) Chris

    Bottleneck 555's 0.2A Stuck project

Unfortunately no. For one thing and I do mean one because they're more issues than this one. Your base current would have to be >=375mA to saturate the collector -emitter junction @ 3A collector current. This is per the ST data sheet. Chris

Variable power supply for supplying valve amp builds

What compontent values? There aren't any. :D Chris

Looking for resistor value and capacitor value for passive low pass filter remove RF

I suggest that you Google "Antenna Theory & Design". While you're at it Google "Transmission Line Theory". They should keep you busy for quite some time. Chris

Variable power supply for supplying valve amp builds

The voltage requirement that Solidus is desirous of is quite a bit higher than your circuit provides. Interesting though but could use some component values. ;) Chris

    Bottleneck 555's 0.2A Stuck project

Kris answered the high current issue on the Reset pin but you have this statement reversed. ;) Chris

    Bottleneck 555's 0.2A Stuck project

If you have 200mA flowing in the 555's Reset pin (your last schematic) you have something wrong. Chris
