Dig up: (1) To find, locate, discover, (2) To find or locate by searching, sifting and separating the inapplicable. Dug up: Past tense of "dig up". Example: Steve, near starvation, was wandering around in the Outback until he dug up some edible tuck. :D Chris

Isolation b/w DAC & Power amplifier

As Harold said, you can use a small audio transformer. You'd connect it between the OpAmp output and the PA input. Curious though.. Why do you need isolation? Chris

I was truly hoping that you'd work it out yourself. You're robbing yourself of the satisfaction of self accomplishment. Chris

Here's a direct link to the motor. This motor will run from 1.5V to 6V. http://www.allelectronics.com/make-a-store/item/DCM-365/6VDC-GEAR-MOTOR/1.html Chris

    Easter engine problem

The LED was not intended to light. Look at this plot (D1(A)) and you'll see why I say that. There isn't enough current flowing through it to light it. Also, I've heard the term "Latch" used repeatedly, while these plots clearly indicate that this circuit operates more akin to a "Relaxation...

Any of the 1N400x series will work in this application but I'd use the 1N4003. ;) Chris

    Easter engine problem

Those are high torque little motors. You need a little micropower motor. They may not be able to due much work but it'll probably rotate for a bit. Chris

    MOTOR SPEED CONTROL

Arg733, may I ask how old you are? The Picaxe and it's language is designed for young students. Your statement here leads me to believe that you're not grasping the basic concept of programming. The fact that the example given shows only two PWM values doesn't mean you're limited to the...

    Digital Pot setup

Justin, I want you to know that I was going to tell you that you made a rash decision and a common nube mistake. That being... having a production board made without first having a few field tests built on a universal project board. Unfortunately for me (embarrassing too) it's not your fault...

Thanks for catching that John. A low val resistor (200Ω to 470Ω) in series with the supply should make it safe . Chris

    MOTOR SPEED CONTROL

IMHO you're still putting the cart before the horse. An electronics nube doesn't make his first project a 1GHz Spectrum Analyzer. Likewise, a novice programmer doesn't attempt to write his own OS as his first project. But if you insist, look for the following commands found in Picaxe_Manual2.pdf...

Help with time delay relay circuit

The first generation of double hulled foam filled boats suffered badly from this. Owners reported their boats gaining many hundreds of pounds as the years passed. The newer generation of foam fill is closed cell and does not retain water. It still may not be the best choice though. There is a...

    Digital Pot setup

Justin, is your circuit connected while the battery is being charged? Did you ask your friend if it failed while he was using it or after a charging? What's the battery voltage at full charge and max voltage while being charged. At times like this we have to explore all possibilities. Chris

    Digital Pot setup

Justin, I have an important appointment with a beer tap, so I gotta go. If it's an input spike that's killing it you may be able to use a small resistor and 27V Zener on the input. I'll look at it longer when I get back and have a MUCH clearer head. In the interim there's many good...

Help with time delay relay circuit

Potting is a favorite in the marine industry but it makes the module totally un-serviceable. Perhaps sandwiching the board between two layers of foam rubber in a tight box? Foam rubber deteriorates over time so it would have to be replaced yearly. Chris

Isolation b/w DAC & Power amplifier

According to this the PA is driving the acoustic transducer. Your DAC needs to drive the 10KΩ input to the PA. You need a HiZ (>=1MΩ) input to an OpAmp to properly interface a DAC output. Chris
