Motor run and start capacitors, need suggestion on buying new ones

I am finding its very hard to find an oil filled cap with that's round and close to my dimensions (3" x 1-1/2")... all I seem to find are oval and they wont fit under my cap covers

Motor run and start capacitors, need suggestion on buying new ones

I have a PM45M mill (rf45 clone) looks like a clone of yours Its not that there is a thing wrong with the mill right now, its got a brand new motor in it, like I said they usually last about a year, I just wanted to get ahead of the caps on this one, ive been using the mill every day since I...

Motor run and start capacitors, need suggestion on buying new ones

Oh well I am thinking if you don't replace this 20 mf cap as soon as it starts to go it prolly is the culprit ... they are covered and its tough to really know when it goes with this motor, my thoughts are it goes bad and I just don't know it right away and it stresses out the windings and when...

Motor run and start capacitors, need suggestion on buying new ones

The 20 uf one is the one that blows up all the time, well like once a year and the other one looks fine, ive replaced both in the past but the motor still only runs slow and needs a kick to get it up to full speed ... that's when I just replace the motors, so I am guessing when that 20 uf blows...

Motor run and start capacitors, need suggestion on buying new ones

I need some help on what brand to buy in these, I just want some good ones to have on hand in case I blow these. I will probably just put the new ones in the day I get them because I have had problems with these Chinese capacitors blowing up and I think they must mess up the windings/coils in...

Help Me/ hook up a forward-stop-reverse motor cont switch on a 220volt mill machine

Yes he checked the ohms, he did did it pretty fast but I saw him take several tests with it and had one of the leads removed off the start and the run cap at some point when testing Ohh sorry I read this wrong I thought you meant the switch, I dont know the cap answer I was in and out of shop

Help Me/ hook up a forward-stop-reverse motor cont switch on a 220volt mill machine

"If the hand drawn schematic is correct I wonder if it was harder to flick start the motor one way over the other." John: No its the exact same as far as starting, the only effect in this is when using different gears on the machine, pick a low speed gear, which uses alot less torque on the...

Help Me/ hook up a forward-stop-reverse motor cont switch on a 220volt mill machine

Ok, I will rephrase: The centrifugal switch is not creating friction on the switch at stop/initial start-up The switch on my model is not depressing the contacts to allow the Start cap to be in the circuit The run cap gets the machine going after I flick the spindle with high whine...

Help Me/ hook up a forward-stop-reverse motor cont switch on a 220volt mill machine

I had an electrical engineer come over and hook this up, it now works as before, he did note that the centrifugal switch never allows the start capacitor to work kick in, which is why I had to give the spindle a flick to get it to spin at full speed most of the time even before the switch went...

Help Me/ hook up a forward-stop-reverse motor cont switch on a 220volt mill machine

Could you clarify just a bit for me to understand better? It gets confusing for me Earlier today I did try another method One hot direct from outlet, direct to U2(named wire) / V2( named lug) (this was what I found on old switch, it was jumped on the switch in such a way as to never turn...

Help Me/ hook up a forward-stop-reverse motor cont switch on a 220volt mill machine

Below is motor lug box in same orientation as above pictures Tested with meter set to: 200 ohm setting All wires are removed from motor lugs for this testing As you will see below there are only 3 results, they are either: 2.0 ohms, 1.2 ohms or No Circuit

Help Me/ hook up a forward-stop-reverse motor cont switch on a 220volt mill machine

Here's some pictures from the above PDF of that other mill, the one with 1 more wire to make it easier for you to look at rather than going to PDF file above, the motor block looks like its identically labeled, I played with the contrast on it to make it easier to see the lug labels Other...

Help Me/ hook up a forward-stop-reverse motor cont switch on a 220volt mill machine

Here's a picture of my motor, there are raised labels next to the lugs on the motor, I just dragged a red marker over them so they could be seen.

Help Me/ hook up a forward-stop-reverse motor cont switch on a 220volt mill machine

No mine is a clone of a RF45 (Rong Fu 45) ... its a PM45 the problem is they are all wired differently Mine is second on this list, but no wiring diagrams for it exsist, these are all basically the same exact machine in looks, I pulled those 2 diagrams from a few of these machines YL90-L4...
