High current, 40 A to 100 A, current limiting devices other than a resistor

The Poteous site is a good read. CRC of course contains enough data for a 4 year college course. Do you have to have a membership or pay a fee to get CRC data? It seems that the hard copy book was around 500 dollars, about 30 years ago. I will keep both links. Thanks. Current state of test fixture.

High current, 40 A to 100 A, current limiting devices other than a resistor

I am using 10 Peltier devices connected in parallel. Each device is rated 12 VDC, 15 Amps. My concern is with initial power up. In prior experiments, at the instant of power on, the Peltier device appears as almost a dead short. Once the diode junctions begin to heat up, the device will limit...

    LiFePo4 100 AH battery charger

My need is to maintain my 100 AH LiFePo4 batteries during periods of non-use. A bare bones, 120 VAC powered charger. If it has capability to charge 12 volt lead/acid batteries, all the better, as long as it is either a no fail auto system or has a selector switch. Fast charging is not the goal...

Effects of using 50 Hz power on a 60 Hz device.

A few months ago my computer contracted a relatively hostile virus. Totally my fault for venturing into no man's land and disregarding anti-virus warnings. I have yet to seriously set my computer down and try to recover data. So, I am cruising thru cyberspace on a tablet using my phone's hotspot...

Effects of using 50 Hz power on a 60 Hz device.

As I understand it, if there were no losses a typical induction motor would spin at 3600 rpm (or 1800 rpm depending upon how many poles are wound). Due to "slip" motors of this type will be rated at 3550 and 1725 rpm, respectfully. Another person found a statement saying power out would be...

    Those that forget the past.....

Digital signal processing is a more accurate term here. Signal conditioning, in my opinion, relates more so to analog data.

    Those that forget the past.....

Agreed. All of man's senses can perceive only analog information. I'll venture a WAG and say all original releases of the Beatle's (the British invasion) albums were free of any digital signal conditioning.

    Those that forget the past.....

I was going to use the am radios of the 1960s but after remembering the creation of the ABC in 1937, I thought their could be a conflict in there somewhere. So, I'll cite pre-1937 am radios where from the broadcaster's lips to the listener's ear, there was not a digital signal to be detected.

    Those that forget the past.....

This is not a complaint or a request for argument but merely an observation and an expression of my opinion. Regarding the attachment, I do not agree with the first paragraph. I think it looks like something AI would compose. In my opinion, an analogy would be, "Long distance travel by men was...

    DC voltage reduction circuit needed

What I did find that I have on hand is a CV CC convertor which I will hopefully be testing with panels and charge controller, sometime this week. CV CC unit rated 40 A.

    Ultrasonic trans/rec transducer support hardware

PIR? Infrared? Is suspect I would need to scan entire height of tank.

    Ultrasonic trans/rec transducer support hardware

My projects tend to stretch the projected time tables. My initial thot was capacitive difference as the indicator of liquid level. I did an experiment but results showed only a difference of a few pico farads. I did not feel secure with determining such a small value accurately and repeatable...

    DC voltage reduction circuit needed

Thank you for your input. I ordered from Amazon. Going to go pick up package just now.

    DC voltage reduction circuit needed

I did indeed order a 40A buck converter about an hour after posting this thread. However, this particular converter has a max input voltage of 35 VDC. My panels will reach 36.7 V, no load, therefore I will be using a shunt regulator that should guarantee that Vin,max is never exceeded. Quite a...

    DC voltage reduction circuit needed

The latest charge controller I purchased for my PV system has a max input voltage of 25 VDC. My panels produce 36 VDC. I'm looking for a DC voltage reduction circuit to insure that controller never feels any voltage above 20 VDC. Does anyone have a bare-bones, bullet proof buck circuit handy?

Looking for suggested dynamic microphone power level

Far field attenuation is a wonderful idea but often the background noises are present and very annoying, even at my carrier's business, Cellone. If I have to tell a business operator that they need to speak up to be understood, I generally hang up after the third time. I suspect the OTJ training...

Looking for suggested dynamic microphone power level

I received the following email on 5-3. This thread may have been archived. Idk. I did buy another thrift shop mic. Haven't tried it yet but suspect your mention of mics being geared for voice may come into play. I'm guessing the new mic was karaoke mic.
