    I measured and I looked at the specs and it's shorter. I don't care about the color per say but the color indicates the USB specification. Even if it might work, I'd rather not change it and potentially cause an issue in the future because I forgot it doesn't follow the standard.

    No, it's not burnt. It's just the plastic broke and some of the pin got bent when I reinserted the mouse before I realized this. It is through-hole. The issue I am finding isn't so much the lip but the dimensions.
