    KZG 6.3v 820uf cap

I have an HP pavilion that started throwing a BIOHD-4 Error and I found a Smart Error on the main 320g drive. According to the specs, this system can't format anything over 320g, and I have installed two(2) 500g init. So looking the motherboard over, there were a few bulging caps, so I replaced...

The board was scraped through one of the traces... I did a repair, but I don't know if it will work... to scared to test it... there was a wire to the main process board which was disconnected, I don't know, maybe the repairman did a check for something and didn't find anything, the in trying...

    Old turntable old axial electrolytic

dead thread... actually the thing here is that when you don't want to remove something from the board, you just snip the terminals. That was you won't be wondering if the old component is causing the problems you will soon have if the numbers are wrong. Just saying... should use that...

What are the 3 wires of a computer fan hooked to?

A fan is sometimes designed to speed up or slow down based on the cooling needs of the system. That way you don't over cool the CPU creating monitor interference. Usually the third wire is a clock wire that gives RPM. The red being hot, and the black being not, if you put a small power supply...

What kind of equipment would I need to diagnose an Italian Electric piano?

I have found some very scary things in this electronic piano. Loose wires, cut board traces, chips that I can't find datasheets for, and oddly enough, most of it worked when I got it! I can't find a manual, but I did find a schematic, and thats all I should need.. right. ok I re-connected all...

    Axial C testing

It was my understanding..,that a capacitor, when tested with a vom, that it would count up until it reached infinity... Why then does an axial just test like a resistor.. or is that a bad cap?

Voltage across the caps, seems nominal... With resistance tests, no power, I have 3 electrolytic caps which test outside of 200k #27, #37, and #51. The last one, #50 if I include the axial reference.

This system uses a -25v rail instead of a -9 or -12v. Testing with my 20v setting on the vom would read infinite.

I found the board had a large scratch in it that broke through the trace across one of three traced affected. I repaired the broken traces with a solder jump.

I fixed the scratch... Made a better ground, and found a loose wire in the key switch pins. I have infinite on the -9v +9v And +12 v ok. I am out of expertise.. I am not college educated.... What would cause my -9v rail to go infinite?
