i went looking for a cad program to help draw my circuits. I was told by a few people they use paint as its simple. I wanted something easy myself and stumbled accross tinycad. seems easy there may be restrictions. http://tinycad.sourceforge.net
there are a multitude of free cad programs that offer various features. this one is BASIC. so if you want to design an interdimensional wormhole you may wanna go for the paid ones... if you wanna show the wiring setup in a car... this may prove useful. I know people will post a thousand other links. and I am an absolute noob so theirs may(most likely will) be better.
in short if you wanna draw it try paint first. if you want a cad do a google search and find one thats right for you
