A Speaker OHM question

Hello to my old friends here. I am hoping you might help me with this:

I ordered a new home theatre receiver. The manual is here: https://download.yamaha.com/files/tcm:39-1161601

I want to match this up with some home theatre speakers I already have. The two rear speakers will be high quality 8 ohm speakers. The front speakers will be Samsung 6 Ohm speakers and the centre channel speaker will also be a Samsung centre speaker that is 6 ohms.

On page 14 of the manual it states:

• (U.S.A. and Canada models only)
  Under its default settings, the unit is configured for 8-ohm speakers. When connecting 6-ohm speakers, set the unit’s speaker impedance to “6 Ω MIN”.

Given that I am using both 6 ohm speakers and 8 ohms, should I set the switch to 6ohms?

Thank-you. I know it is best to have all the speakers with the same ohms, but I am on a budget and trying to use speakers I already have.

Unless you can set up the impedance for the different speakers separately, which I suppose you can't, use the [imath]6 \ Ohm[/imath] setting. If the rear speakers are a tad too low in volume, crank up the rear speaker volume.

What is your 8 Ohm speakers, continuous RMS power rating in Watts?
What is your rear channel audio power amplifiers output in watts when set to 6 Ohms?

I would budget for matching speakers than a brand new Home theater receiver.

Thanks guys. I will use the 6 ohm setting. Eventually, I will get matching speakers. I got the receiver first because I am using a sound bar that has rear speakers but it is ill equipped to handle two hdmi sources, so it is a nightmare operating it. The rear speakers I will be using are expensive foreign made speakers. The front speakers are ones that I got with a previous home theater system. They are small and are 6 ohms. i have to make it work for now.

There should be no problem in using 8 ohm speakers with the amp set to 6 ohms.
The only difference may be a slightly lower maximum power into the 8 ohm speakers, but that's shouldn't an issue at normal listening levels.

Use the 6 Ohm as suggested. In case you were not aware; the 6 or 8 ohm factory rating is at 1KHz. And you will be listening to music at a very wide spectrum and at a very wide changes in amplitude. A tiny moment it will be 8 Ohm. Ignore impedances and enjoy the music. Also remember that maximum volume is not maximum of the knob. It is before distorts.
