helow i have here a 47uf 260 V capacitor. My problem is how to test this... what reading shall i get when using analog voltmeter set to Rx10. thanks in advance...

A capacitor should show that it is charging from an ohm-meter. It is a very crude and accuracy-less test.
It is easy to test a capacitor:
1) Measure it on a capacitor tester. It should charge then stop drawing current.
2) Charge the capacitor from a DC voltage then time how long it discharges into a resistor.

hmm. i tried charging it using my atx power supply and when i measure the voltage it reads 12 Volts... Is it good???
