Hi, I hooked up 3 cell phone chargers in series as to produce me 19 V. but they still don't seem to charge my laptop...what could be the problem.

Charges I used :

2 Chargers at 5.6 V - 0.4 A
1 Charger at 7.5 V - 300 mA

Also what does it mean when your input says 1.5A example:

I/P : 100- 240 ~ 1.5A 50- 60 Hz

Thank you all for your answers

Cell phone chargers are too puny to even wake up the charging circuit of a laptop. You'll need jucier stuff.

1.5A is the maximum current ever drawn from the mains. This will be at the lowest voltage (100V) in this case. At 220V it will draw less than half that current.

As Res. has said way too puny.!! although you have got the correct voltage you haven't
got anywhere near enough current. Most laptop powerpacks (plugpacks) that are anywhere from 10 - 20 volts all have current ratings in the 3.5 - 5 amp range.

cheers
