Aiwa NSX-F9, model no:CX-NF9HR problem

Friends, I have a Aiwa NSX-F9, model no:CX-NF9HR , 5CD stereo which was fine, I did not switch on the unit for a couple of months. when I switched on
1.) the display had failed
2.) one of the speaker had hum
3.) The pause Fwd and Rew button Lights glows.
I am a electronic technician, please help.

my first questions would be ...
how was it stored put away or still set up on a shelf etc ?
how old is the unit ?
how much use has it had?
have conditions during its non use been damp? .... humid?

Hi Dave
It was not stored in a damp or humid condition, it was kept on my table covered with a cloth.
The unit is around 10 years old.
It was used only on weekends for an hour.
