Caltech pulls off a trick that scientists thought was impossible

Building a quantum internet
The work was led by Andrei Faraon, the William L. Valentine Professor of Applied Physics and Electrical Engineering at California Institute of Technology (Caltech).
;)

Rare earth atoms in tiny light traps

To build the nodes, the Caltech team doped crystals with a special kind of atom known as a rare earth ion, a class of elements whose inner electrons interact weakly with their surroundings
One experiment showed that a nanophotonic resonator in such a crystal can act as a chip-scale quantum memory for single photons.

Shit like this gets an equal hearing in the minds of the unwashed because they couldn't understand their school work (especially maths) and so gave up on all forms of scientific knowledge.
Bad education; time present is not time well spent at school - incapable teachers... the world has big-time over-reached in the matter of education over many decades and almost nobody knows - walk up to someone and offer them $100 to solve a simultaneous equation.
The books are gone, the government and many private and extra-state actors have the power to completely destroy human knowledge in most of the world with a single electronic pulse.
You have just DOOMSCROLLED

There’s nothing wrong with theories…
“Be ashamed to die until you have won some victory for humanity" is a famous quote by 19th-century American educator Horace Mann. It urges individuals to live meaningfully, contribute to society, and leave the world better than they found it, rather than just existing.

there's something very wrong with the promotion of lies though.
Call that my theory

I like the bubble bots much better than the pyramid hypothesis

Night vision contact lenses
Scientists have created contact lenses that can give people super-vision, according to a study published in the journal Cell. The lenses allow "people to see beyond the visible light range, picking up flickers of infrared light even in the dark — or with their eyes closed,"
They could potentially be a replacement for night-vision goggles.
The lenses also do not require a power source like traditional goggles, making them a more usable alternative.
