BBC Microbit

Saw a bbc microbit appear on ebay yesterday. Has anyone had the chance to have a hands on with one of these devices? looks quite cool for very small projects and learning some basic coding.

Don't see much point of one if you have an Arduino board, just a cheap clone would give you more functionality LEDs are cheap

People really shouldn't list the magnetometer chip as a compass. The only electronic compass that I know of is the fluxgate ones. Magnetometer are very sensitive to spurious magnetic fields.
