I'm looking to build a synth at the moment and I'm wondering what op-amp/comparator would be best for clipping waveforms into square waves.

What is the input signal?

What is the output swing?

What supply voltages are available?

Supply voltage will be either 3.3, 5 or 12 volts. Input signal can be any waveform you can think of, It's designed to take input from any instrument and convert it to a square wave.

You said nothing about the input level or the output level, and have given us 3 choices of supply voltage. Not much help, I am afraid.
