I have a Reinmann & Georger Corp., VL Direct Drive Compact Guard, Boat Lift Hoist.
It uses a 3 phase 230VAC, 2.4A, 3/4HP motor and VFD drive circuitry.
The circuitry experienced an overvoltage surge. It burned (charred) R1, a VDR (voltage dependent resistor). In its charred state the R1 (VDR) measures 10 ohms.
The 110 VAC input is in series with R1 feeding the primary of a small ( 1” DIA. torroid, 16 ga wire, 13 turns 1:1) torroid transformer. The secondary feeds a bridge rectifier (GSIB2580).
The bridge is replaced, but I need the value of R1. I think it may be only for surge, and maybe I can use a 10 resistor for testing. I would like to know what value VDR I should be using to complete the repair.
Thanks,
Eddie
