Hello everyone,

Recently, I've been using a hollow rotary actuator with a servo motor for indexing. I've noticed occasional minor angular deviations after positioning, but no alarms are triggered. I suspect the encoder feedback phase isn't properly matched.

I'd like to ask if it's necessary to perform encoder phase calibration after installing a hollow rotary actuator? What's the most accurate calibration method?

Thank you for your help.

I'd be checking the accuracy tolerances of your devices. Tolerance +/- what percent?
My personal opinion is that you have an unacceptable mechanical tolerance accuracy for
your application, and should be looking for an alternative solution.
It would help people here try to offer help if you specified what devices you've matched
together in your application to opine about suitability.
