... Eagle may have a steep learning curve as CircuitStudio literature points out, but the price is right :)

...
Price is several thousand dollars for the professional version of either software, but Eagle is about a thousand bucks cheaper. That is still too rich for my blood, unless I can find a "customer" I can load the cost onto. I did that once with a purchase of PADS PCB layout and schematic-capture software, including one year of "maintenance". But that was back in the 90s. There is plenty of free stuff, including EAGLE Light Edition, that may be a PITA to learn and use, but free is good and the free "hobby" editions meet most of my current prototyping needs for home experimenting.

Thanks for clarifying that Hop. I don't want to mislead - from my perspective, the free version of Eagle is quite capable.
I would love to unload the cost of slick software, however, I am no where near the point of selling my wares, LOL. Good on you though ;-)

@chopnhack I haven't sold anything in years. Too busy playing with other people's toys, right up to the day I retired. I now have a couple of weeks to decide if I want to renew my "maintenance" on a 3D design software. I could purchase a really good antenna for what that costs. <sigh>

I bought the software when it was still Protel Advanced Schematic, and for look and feel I still prefer it, but unfortunately it lacks modern features.
