I had a set of computer speakers (Altec Lansing BX3). My wife plugged a heater into the surge protector and later yanked the heater plug out before turning it off. Computer went into some freaky version of a BSOD and computer speakers started acting up.
Speakers were three parts: two smaller stereo speakers that wired into the back of the base with bare wire connections. The stereo speakers were fine, but the bass started making a loud humming/buzzing noise. The noise was not affected by turning the volume up or down, however it would go up and down in volume if I dialed the bass.
Is there anything I can do to fix it? I opened up the back but I don't know enough about electronics to tell if something is broken. I was hoping there would be a fuse I could just replace, but I haven't found one.
