Hi,

I need 24V,40A power supply for my Application.
I have two 24v,20A power supply with me.

Is it ok? if i connect two 24 volt,20A power supply of different make in parallel.

kindly suggest me.

Thanks in Advance,

If the supplies have regulated output voltages then in parallel they will "fight" each other.
The first one might have a voltage slightly higher than the second one. Then the circuit in the second one will reduce its output voltage because it is too high. The circuit in the first one will increase its output voltage because it is too low.

It depends on the power supplies.

Some power supplies are designed to be paralleled but it normally means setting one as the master and the other as the slave.

If you don't know then they probably can't be paralleled and will fight each other as audioguru said.

You could try using a Schottky diode 'or' gate to  parallel them at the expense of regulation and a voltage loss of between 300mV to 600mV depending on the diode and current drawn.
