How much current is needed? For low current, you can use DC-DC converter chip such as the ICL7662.

Rhonn, what did you measure as current out on the doubler design with the TDA2004?

With an input voltage of 12VDC, output is 23.5VDC @ 200mA. 22.3VDC @ 1A, 20.7VDC @ 1.4 maximum..
The ic can handle about 30watts.. quiescent current was about 130mA @ 12VDC input..
