I got a ricoh wide format duplicator that had a issue without starting, so I called the number on the machine. There were some Pakistani or something on the line whose accent so hard to understand I felt put out and they connected me to a manager who wasn't much better.
I need you to know this old device is incredible... along the way, sometime when it was owned by someone else... Probably the local county government..(it has an impossible to remove sticker on it) it started "throwing this error"... call the service depatrtment....

SO I am a realist...

I don't accept idiocy as an object, and I decided to just give it good checking over to see what was what....

I bet it was being moved once along time ago, and fell over... oops, anyway it weighs in at 260#... ouch for the little office girl trying to do right...huh. Well there are a set of tabs that drop into lineup holes in between the paper feeder and the scanner unit... and I noticed one of the tabs was not quite dropped into the slot. I grabbed my favorite tool and pryed the tab into the slot... Bang... the machine fell together about 1/2" drop .... Works fine now! Master life members of the handyman club are very lucky sometimes..... and sometimes... Handy.

Now here's the clicker.... It has an interface port on the back, that is supposed to.... I don't know... hook up to a PC or something... it has a flat -dual sided -plug with clips on each side... to hold the cable.. I have ssen these cables in the past... I would like to get one... I have lots of PC's, to dedicate one... be a nice B/W scanner-enlarger for some inventor or something.
Anyone know where I can get the cable? Ricoh Aficio 240W printer... hard drive installed, needs a cable and drivers....ricohprt.jpg
