Why do we get geniuses here like this...don't know squat about EOLRs and
yet know...know...how to make a cellular phone work with a Vista panel.

Oy, oy, oy.

They're either sneaking in from Canada or So. Cal. :)

Wow, I haven't checked in here in a while. I see not much has changed
around here. What a bunch of losers! Guess I'll keep on moving. Nothing
worth much going on here. See you boys in another year, maybe.

RHC: No, YOU are clearly the amateur and Crash is a professional.

A professional asshole :_))
There is a world of difference between the two. You think you know how
things work; he does know how things work through years in the
business. Sure phone lines can be cut. But it is a lot rarer than you
think ! These thieves are not rocket scientists; they kick in a door
in a drug induced haze. Or they push in a patio door, or they kick in
a basement window. Cutting a phone wire takes at least a modicum of
planning, something none other than a professional does. And
professionals dont generally target homes; its not worth the take !

Talking to other DIYèrs is a lot like talking to yourself. You figure
you have all the answers but dont really understand the questions !!
You come here asking for professional advice, then dont want to take
it. If you are too cheap to buy even basic monitoring services, then
go ahead and play with your mickey mouse dialing arrangements. But
dont come here complaining when it doesnt work. Alarm systems have to
work 100% of the time, not just when someone has a cell phone on
(maybe)

You want to learn something or just complain we dont agree with your
stupid position on self-monitoring. Do some reading; my site is a
start on the all importantg physical security arrangements necessary.
The electronic stuff ....hell, you got that all figured out already...

www.homemetal.com

Oh, you're another big mouth know it all too...whatta perv!

do you see ME asking stupid questions here? uh no...ur the one.

what a maroon

Its your answers that are stupid! You're the only one who says THIS
DON"T WORK, THAT DON"T WORK...Mr big time install man..haha..whatta
jackass!

10k means 10,000 ... read that correctly it's a numerical value and in that
sentence refers to the quantity of alarms we've installed not the cost of
the system - although have done systems that cost that.

learn to read.

for an asshole patting himself on the back you sure have your problems
with things not working. You outta work now mr installer? You sure
seem to have time to frequent the NG and spew your stupid remarks.
Anyone who reads your posts, except for your butt buddies, can tell
you're full of bullcrap!

I never asked you a question asswipe! Why would I ask a fool like you
anything?

I get such a kick out of these guys. And this one's a winner.

I got your winner swinging! :)))
He's not going to get central station monitoring because the phone
lines can be cut.

So he's going to use a voice dialer to call his cell phone

I guess he's going to use his neighbors phone line to do that. And of
course he's always going to have his cell phone with him and he's
never going to be in a place where he can't get cell service and he's
never going to be in a position where he can't take a call and has to
let it go to voice mail. He's never going to forget and leave his
cell phone home or in the car ..... Nah .... things like that don't
happen. Go ahead. Ask him. He obviously knows everything. Why else
would he come here asking questions?

Did I ask you a question fool? You're another butt buddy know it all
big time alarm expert with nothing but bullshit to spew.

Vista panel....wow thats some 10k installer talk! Wow Wee!!

Yeah thats why you are in the NG all day...why aren't you big time
installers working? I know why, because no one will hire fools like
you...hahah...I will be installing my system this weekend! With GSM no
landline you stupid landline lovers...big experts but a simple snip
and your SOL!! What experts!!

Yeah, all know it alls who know nothing...totally worthless. I'll be
back in another year too. I have a tits system to install this
weekend. I would never pay some asshole so called expert installer
like crash gordon or the other followers of his...They're all out of
work!! hahaha..so they lurk here telling how MUCH they know(but its
actually how much they DON'T know!)))

Bye bye boyz...I got work to do...do u? hahah

Nah, this is the attention deprived, sexually frustrated 13 year old son of
a network engineer, I'd bet on it.

I really don't need to work anymore with the RMR I have coming in, all I
need to do is keep the clients I have happy.
And, unlike you I don't need to install one system on a saturday...that wont
work. Ha...maroon.

Thanks for the info Frank. I've downloaded the handbook you
mentioned. Yes, I'd definately be hiding the main unit somewhere. My
neighbor had a Honeywell/Ademco installed by ADT. Its control panel
is 2 feet from the front entry door! Yikes!

Initially I don't plan on having the system monitored by a Central
Office. I will have it dial my cellphone. If after all is working I
might get monitoring but to me, unless you have a GSM module, its too
easy for the telephone line to get cut.

Thanks again for the input. I certainly appreciate it.

Yeah... I see things went their usual downward spiral from here. Some
professionals have pretty strong feelings about voice dialers and many
DIYer's have attempted to use the "page" option to dial a cell phone
with little to some success.

I consider my family to be my most precious "gift" and wouldn't consider
anything but a monitored alarm system to protect them. Your self
dialling security system will do you a lot of good when the carbon
monoxide detector or smoke alarm goes off in the middle of the night and
you're fast asleep with your cell phone turned off or "on charge"
downstairs. Or worse... some creep decides to break in and winds up
confronting you in your bedroom. A GSM module, a professionally
installed and monitored alarm system is a small price to pay when you
weigh it against the alternative "cheap solution". This is just my
honest opinion (which is thankfully shared by many here). One of the
regular posters here lost his son in a house fire. And I was called in
to help repair a fire alarm system after a fire struck an apartment
building in the wee hours of the morning several years ago. Two kids
lost their lives in that one and I'll never forget it. I've kept these
individuals in mind every time I service, install, or inspect a fire or
burg system and won't compromise just to be the "cheaper choice".

I wish you well with your choice, but please do consider professional
monitoring as a security asset rather than the liability you seem to
think it is.

Regards,
Frank

Does your mom know that you're playing with the computer?

Not until she gets the bill for his system on her credit card.
