This alarm, when activated, emits a few beeps from the keypad rather than the loud alarm that it used to make from the speaker. Is there some setting that may have been changed? The battery was changed about two years ago and doubt it would require changing again already. Thanks.

I do not believe the 1515 has a bell fuse anymore so it could very well be a blown siren. You did say speaker though, unless this was a typo, there may be an issue with your siren driver. Normally a siren is hooked up to the alarm, using a speaker would require a siren driver.
