HI ALL!
ONCE WE HAVE SUCCESSFULLY MADE TOUCH SENSORS USING SWITCHES,
PIEZOELECTRIC CRYSTALS ,POTS ETC AND EVEN PROXIMITY SENSORS USING LIGHT RAYS AND ALSO MAGNETIC FILELD,HOW FAR WE ARE FROM THE SIGHT SENSOR THAT GIVES OUTPUT WHEN WE LOOK AT IT.IS ANYONE WORKING OVER IT?  :-\

A sensor could easily detect the X-ray vision of Superman, but usually our vision doesn't emit anything for a sensor to detect.

Some virtual reality head sets and tell where your eyes are looking by reflectig a low powered infrared beam of your retina. Lets not forget iris scanners that can identify people.

hi alun!
I too have heard about these types but just heard! :D
i think the light will still reflect from our retina even if we are looking at some other place.I mean it should sense it when we look at it.Is it possible or we have to become all SUPERMANS! as audioguru said!

prateeksikka ,
Imadgine the retina acts lik a mirror to infra red light.  You can stand in front of the window on a sunny day and reflect the sunlight around the room with a small mirror or watch. The virtuality reality head set could work on the same principle.

i wish to get an idea for a sensor !
which people should see to get the o/p.it should not give out any source of its own.Flashing light is not the property if the sensor.
Moreover i dont wish to make people blind for this stupid project.
;D

Prateek,
Interesting project. Here is a link that might help you with your research regarding the human eye.

HI MP!
THE LINK GIVEN BY YOU GIVES THE SPECTRUM OF WHITE LIGHT ,THE WAVELENGTH AND FREQUENCIES.BUT I WISH TO KNOW WHAT THING WOULD YOU EXPLOIT FROM THE HUMAN EYE TO GET THE OUTPUT?
LIKE IF I RADIATE LIGHT AND RECIEVE IT BACK,HOW TO JUDGE THAT IT HAS REFLECTED FROM THE RETINA AND NOT MY GLASS WINDOW PANE?

YOU MEAN TO SAY A PROJECT WHICH CAN BE CALLED A COLOUR DETECTOR?

hi there!
for colour sensing,is it the wavelength only that can i use?
any other property by virtue of which the colors differ? ::)

Your eyes detect only red, green and blue with some overlap. Your brain determines colours in between and can be fooled.
As example, the colour Yellow emits a wavelength between red and green. If you look at a red object and a green object that are close together, like a red/green LED, your brain thinks it is yellow. ;D
