Can anyone help with a source of a service manual for a Ford model
2006 car radio?

Much Googling has produced nothing apart from a hex dump of the
internal ROM, and Ford, of course, have nothing.

Oops, that last one didn't work too well... sorry.

Go here, click on fulltext search, enter Ford and you'll
find a number of things to look at.

I don't know if this is any help, but perhaps it's worth a look?

Yes, tried them, thanks; they'e got some Ford stuff, but not this one
(except the ROM dump!)

I need the analogue circuitry, I want to add an external volume
control and auxiliary input.
