I get this message when i even before i place an order. I enter my password and user name correctly. Once i click the samples option,
i get this message.

Is this due to the place where i live and hence i cannot recive them?
OR
Is this since i have mentioned i am a student in my registration form?

Apart from T.I. which other is the best.
I have placed my order of MAXIM and NATIONAL 2 months ago and havent recived them.

siddharth, I am not sure if their policy sends samples to students. You might want to give yourself a business name and try again to see if there is a difference. Just a suggestion.

mixos,

Special thanks for you for the info. I just received the chips that I ordered 3 days ago from TI without any fee to pay. ;D Nice packaging. Unbelievable.

Hello,

With FAIRCHILD, I do not recieve all samples requested.
They always send me back an e-mail : "samples will be shippe".

But I never reciev it :-\
And some some time, I recieve some products but not all.

Do you know why ?

Djipe

Hi Djipe!

What e-mail did you use? If it's your hotmail account, then forget your parts. You need a most 'commercial' adress and a suitable cie name. Notice that Fairchild is quite long to send parts and the usually send only some of the ordered parts.

Has anyone orderd some sample parts, and when they show up you need to pay some C.O.D. Cost on delivery.

How come that Sensirion is in that list? They sell expensive sensors only of which you can't order samples. Would be too nice to be true.

Sensirion used to send samples of their temperature-humidity sensors SHT11 but only until the end of 2003. I got some of these nice chipies :p

Yes, I have also gotten free samples from sensirion in the past. They still send me literature on new products. They do not send samples, now? Bummer!

I have ordered some samples from the MAXIM. Unfortunately the samples seems never arrive even though after 3 weeks time( I'm staying in Malaysia).

Then I go back to the notifications mail which stated that I reply to that particular message if got any enquiries. However when I replied, the mail administrator rejected the mail and say that the emaill address in not exist! The email address is: [email protected]

Even after weeks of ordering, MAXIM still haven't send me any single chip!

As I am in Hong Kong, I think most of the IC manufacturers will forward the sample order to the distributors in Hong Kong......... and I do think most of them are not willing to send samples especially we are for our own usage.... :-\

I haven't give an order yet.....hmm....... may be I should try Microchip first....... ;)

I have ordered some samples from Allegro Microsystem on 27/07/2004. They reverted instanly that they forwarded the orders for approval. Waited 1 week no sign of getting anything.

Forward the email I received and ask about the status of the order. Reverted with the status "ship to customer". Cool... Waited patienly. 1 week passed, 2 week passed. I contacted the person incharge. No news, no reply... I lost my patience.

I send them an harsh email. Ask them to remove "sample order" links from thier website because it is cheating.

Guest what... immediately they called me and ask my FEDex number. Hmmm... Sometimes harsh emails might do the job...

I received thier parts on 17/08/2004. Suggest those who never received any ordered samples... follow my way. It might work.

Texas Instruments still the top of the list. Shipment in 5 working days. From US to Malaysia.

I have ordered sample for hall effect IC's from Allegro Microsystem. There are 6 types all together. So far I have tried 3 different types. Guess what... non of them are working.

The function of Hall Effect IC is like reed switch. Turn on when in presence of magnet. But these IC's not doing the job. Wasted 4 hours of testing. Right no moving to opto interupter switches.

Ante,

Attached is the data sheet for HALL-EFFECT SWITCHES I have used. I have tested A3121LLT, A3122LLT & A3123LLT. Non of them working.

Power source 6V battery.

I connected the output from Hall IC to 2N3055 base. Beeper connected to 2N3055.

By logic it should work. Your comment please.

I see, these where new to me. The once I have been in contact with where not SWITCHES they where used to measure current. When you said Hall effect IC I did not think switch. Sorry, my mistake! Well it looks simple enough to get them to work, I don
