It's an electrical AND thermal question, so more data would help.
Is this a one-time pulse, or a regular one (say, 1 per second or 1 per minute)? This would set the duty cycle and say how much power would need to be handled in the heat sink - if it's one time, then the heatsink thermal mass would dominate the equation.
