Two things: 1. I'm brand new, so please be gentle. 2. I've extremely little experience with pc boards, etc., so please be gentle (again). :)

I have a big plastic Santa I bought from a car boot. It has a pc board with sound and lights, and is battery powered. It didn't seem to work, so took it apart. It has an on/off switch, and another missing "button". I switched on the power switch - nothing. I discovered that it had a set of wires that, when crossed, it came alive and played "Jingle Bells". Pulling the wires apart, the song continued, but each time I took them apart and retouched them together, a different song would play.

So, what I'm looking for, is the type of switch I might buy from Amazon (I'm in Ireland, so our options for electronics components are limited) to allow me to press a button to sort of cycle through the various songs.

Again, I have no ideas what type of button that might be, but thought I'd try to solder one to the two wires I exposed and leave it external to allow us to enjoy the Santa. Mostly, it's just a little project I want to do. ;)

Thanks so much - sincere apologies if this isn't posted in the right place.

A small cheap tactile switch would suit.
Available at any electronics shop or online 10 for $1.00 so to speak...cheap as.

Any momentry contact switch would do........

You can get a tactile switch from Amazon if you don't find it in your local electronics store.

Although, I don't think you'll be able to get just one piece on Amazon. The last time I got it, I bought a pack with 120pcs for around $6.
