Help with Moose Z1100

I have a Moose Products Z1100 system, installed in my 17 year old
home.

During a recent Texas-Size thunderstorm, the system went haywire,
randomly short beeping, and more beeping. Nothing would reset it.

I ended up disconnecting the backup battery, and cutting the power to
the master panel to stop the craziness. Checked all fuses and they are
OK.

Now the ready light is OFF. Of course I cannot arm the system.

When I press the ON/OFF button [1], it beeps once for two full seconds
ignoring any other buttons I press afterwards.

I was able to turn MONITORing ON, so at least I get the 3 beeps when a
door or window is opened.

All Help appreciated in getting this system back on its feet.

Thanks!

MM

What happens when you press the 2 (zone status) key? See what shows as open,
and try to get a ready light by closing it.

Random voltage surge can cause memory loss in the older Z1100..
Try using default codes 123 or 234 to see if that whats happened..

I read it that she has open zone(s) and single digit arming. I guess there
could be a memory loss, but simple goes first.

The default arm/disarm code would be (1)245 though.

If the lightning damaged the Microprocessor or the custom ASIC IC,
then the board is dead. Those parts are no longer made. You might
find a used Z1100 replacement on ebay if you are lucky.
