Hi guys,

I'd just like to introduce myself, my name is Phil and I'm a PCB repair operator from Northern Ireland. Just trying to learn more about electronics and here seems like a good place to do that.

Welcome Phil, this is a great place to learn and share knowledge. The membership is very friendly and patient. Even with my stupid questions.

Regards, John

Hi there Phil, welcome to electronics point.

What does a "PCB repair operator" do?

Thanks for all the welcomes, (*steve*) I work in an electronics factory and have to rework any mistakes made on the lines.

Ah, I see. So you have good practical skills at "mechanical" end of electronics and you want to buttress that with some more technical understanding.

I guess the best approach is for you to let us know where you're at already with understanding of basic components, circuits, etc., and then to choose a path to follow. Electronics is a very broad area of knowledge and it's perhaps best to get a general understanding of basic components and rules (if you don't have these already) before looking more deeply along a path that interests you.
