How do you find the size of the cap if no label?

I wouldn't re-use a cap without a label because you won't know its voltage rating.
If it is defective and needs replacement then testing it will probably give a false reading.

There is a marking system for capacitors. I think someone posted a link to a site for this somewhere on the forum. You might find it with a search. If you can tell us the markings, one of the members here might be able to steer you in the right direction.

What sort of capacitor is it?

Electrolytic?
Ceramic disc?
Tantalum?

Tantalums and electrolytics are polarised and will be even more of a problem if the polarity markink has worn off in which cas I'd dispose of it.

Do you have an oscillossope or frequency counter?

You could build an astable 555 timer oscillator with a known value resistor then measure the frequency of the output, and work out the capacitor value from the 555 frequency formula.

they are all electrlytics well at least 90% just they all were separate then it got knocked over so now i have like 50 different caps all together while some have the value on them and others dont. Maybe makeing a circuit with a 555 is too much work for them... thet sad there was a iec code but i could not find a chart or online calulator for them.
thanks,
glen
