Hi
Anybody can tell me how to make a Digital Speedometer, i would be happy
if someone can tell me properly with everything need to
make?..including PCB layout, circuit, calibartion stuff, etc.
regards,

Not too likely. You have to specify what you want it for, what speed
range, what your level of competence is, and what research you've
already undertaken to get what you want.

Thought about using a bicycle speedometer - ready made for a few
dollars?

Consider using a small GPS unit, most can display speed.

Make quadrature encoder, feed latched output to LED hex block after
sampling quadrature counter at fixed intervals (use 555
http://www.uoguelph.ca/~antoon/gadgets/555/555.html).

If you cannot use photodiodes, direct contact between stator and rotor
is possible (with all concomitant problems), or with some complexity,
you could even use magnetic induction in sensing circuit.

Look at the bottom of this page for "quadrature".

Quite likely it's all there already. My understanding is that on many newer
cars the "analog" speedometer is actually electronic. He needs a service
manual for the car.

you need a hall sensor from which u can get square pulses with duty
cycle depending upon speed.. u can say that is a pwm type of signal.
now u assign bits through mathematical formula or here algorithm for
duty cycles, ofcourse after ADC. u use proper interface to LCD.. it is
simple u just start and try dud..
