Input Filter circuit design needed

Hi, sorry to asking a noob question, anyone have any idea or any circuit design for a input filter for a 240VAC?

do u wish to smoothen it to dc with an aim to remove all the ripples in the supply?
if that is the case i guess a simple electrolytic capacitor can do ur job.good luck!
