From that sheet it looks like a usb interface for a microcontroller... Dont know mutch more but it looks cool.. ;)

It is a carrier board for FTDI's USB chip. You can use it to design devices that communicate with the PC via the USB port. The TX and RX lines can connect directly to your Microcontroller's serial bus. FTDI is a nice development platform since they provide the drivers needed for the computer.

Did you say you got this for free? How do I get one? Does FTDI have a free samples link?

well i just emailed them and asked for a free sample?  i do have a company email which is probly why i got it? but they paid for shipping too.. :)

this is the only one i could find in my emails..  i had to give this guy all shipping info [email protected]  if anything iam sure he would forward it to whoever could help you. i emailed sales though the website and i belive it was also fowarded to the right person..

No. I was told they do not give them away as samples. They were actually very rude in their response. I even used my business email for the request.
