Hi, sorry if this is a silly question but how do I make a circuit with a latching switch. I have 2 components (an LED and a solenoid) that I want to move simultaneously when the user presses the latching switch. How do I do that? thank you so much any and all help and advice is very greatly appreciated.

Maybe a servo would be better than a solenoid?
Especially if you want the LED to move when the switch is pressed, regardless of the switch type.

A latching switch maintaines it's state after being actuated & will remain in it's last state
Untill toggled again (i.e.actuated).
A D flip flop is a digital latching switch rather than a analog mechanical latching switch.

Actually, if the switch is self-latching (called an alternate-action switch), you don't need a circuit. If the switch is a simple momentary pushbutton, then a circuit can transform this into alternate-action performance.
