I'm building a box for a pa system.  I have a mixer that has an effects in and effects out connection on the front.  I want to steal the signal from the effects loop and split it to go to 2 amps (it is also converting from 1/4" audio jacks on the mixer to RCA connectors on the amps)

Am i on the right track?  I feel as though some thing is wrong here, so instead of blowing something up, i figured i'd ask first....

BTW, transformers are 1:1 isolation transformers, 51ohm impedance on primary, 70ohm impedance on secondary.

Some sound products can drive an isolation transformer as low as 600 ohms. 51 ohms is like a dead short to them.
Are you talking about a 600 ohm impedance to 600 ohm impedance transformer that has a DC winding resistance of 51 ohms to 70 ohms?

A mixer with a low output impedance can drive hundreds of amplifiers that have a high input impedance. Isolation transformers are usually not used.

It also sounds like you're trying to use an RF transformer.

I don't see any need for an isolation transformer, just connect the chassis together and the inputs to the outputs.

Oops my bad on the impedance, it says 600-900ohm.  It is an audio isolation transformer, it says so on the box haha.  I've read in a couple of places that it is a good idea to add a transformer in order to reduce the chances of buzzing and interference between components, but perhaps that is in a different situation?

Also a couple of people i've talked to suggest that the transformer should somehow be connected between a signal and common instead of being used as a jumper between the input and output.

Anyway, i guess the question now is should i remove the transformers?  It is because of them that i'm confused haha.

Audio isolation transformers are used to prevent ground loops. I don't know whether that will be a problem here because you haven't provided enough information about the equipment.

Are all the appliances double insulated? Do they have two core or three core mains cable?

I'm not sure on the mixer, i dont have it here at the moment...

I think the amps are 2 core, single insulated.  They are Pyle PCA3 amps.
