I admit to making the hasty and careless mistake of using a12 V adapter for a 6 V device.

The speaker does make some quiet repetitive thump noise with the 6V adapter, but will not light up, nor show
that it is charging. Did I completely ruin this device, or is there hope I could replace the fried components
in it? I already have gotten a replacement for it, but I still hate to just throw it away if there is anything that
can be done.

thanks in advance for any prognosis..

You probably fried it, however there is a chance there might just be a fuse inside that you could replace..

ok thanks for that... I have never replaced anything inside a consumer electronics device before
such as a fuse, would it be in an obvious place when I crack the device open? or should
I try to hunt down some diagrams?
