I'm looking to find a timer circuit that can turn a fan on for around 5-10 min 3 times an hour.

I've heard of 555 circuits, but really don't know where to start making one, or where to get the gizmos.

I would just buy one from the store, but the smallest increments i could find was for a lamp timer, which is ok, but the increments are on for 30 min off for 30 min.

Is there an easier way to do this than a 555 timer circuit?

Thanks a lot!

If you want this to do the same thing every day at the same intervals, a microcontroller would be the best solution. After that, I suggest a clock circuit with interrupts.
