MacBook Pro - won't power on

What have you tried so far?
Can you share any/all observations you have regarding the macbook? (status lights, sounds, smells, when you attempt to power it on)

( I hope you've tried more than just the power button... )

Well it is fully charged and this symbol would appear every time I open my MacBook pro. So I tried powering it off and turning it back on multiple times but the same symbol would appear over and over again. But usually before the symbol shows, a loading bar appears under the apple logo. And no light is shown when the symbol is appeared. Also, as I leave the MacBook pro open with the symbol visible on the screen for a while, it starts to get a bit heated up.

Well... it sounds like it 'powers on' but won't boot.

Time for a reinstall. Did you make any recent changes?

Well I've tried holding command R and every other symbol suggested on the apple support website relating to the prohibotory symbol issue, but nothing has occurred. I guess I'll take it down to a computer shop and see what's up with it.
